Gardaí have recovered a substantial quantity of stolen property during a number of searches in Clare.
As part of an operation targetting the recent theft of tools from vans, five locations in Ennis and Gaurus, just outside the county town, were searched by Gardaí yesterday, with additional searches carried out on Sunday last.
A silver, grey-coloured Jaguar X-Type car bearing false licence plates, which was used during the commission of the crimes, has also been recovered.
The stolen tools, with an estimated value of between €10,000 and €20,000, will be checked against Garda records and posted in the Garda Western Region Facebook Page, as part of efforts to identify the owners of the property.
Gardaí say a number of arrests will be made as the investigation progresses.
Anyone with information on the thefts, or who may have seen the Jaguar car in recent weeks, are being asked to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 68 48 100.
