The clean-up operation is underway in Clare in the wake of Storm Darragh.
The county was under a status red weather alert, Met Eireann’s highest level warning for a number of hours overnight, when gusts of up to 120 kilometres per hour battered the county.
Crews from Clare’s County Fire Service were mobilised overnight and responded to 62 callouts up to 8am this morning, dealing with issues such as fallen trees and debris on the roads.
Clare’s Chief Fire Officer, Adrian Kelly outlines the type of incidents crews have been dealing with.

Meanwhile 9,000 homes and businesses remain without power this morning.
More than 16,000 properties lost supply at the peak of the storm last night.
The worst hit areas were in the west and North of the county with the likes of Kildysart, Kilrush, Corofin, Doonbeg, Ennistymon, The Hand, Kilfenora and Ennis being heavily effected.
ESB Technical Manager Michael Sammin say crews are working to restore supply, but admits its expected to take till tomorrow for electricity to be restored for many.
