Clare County Council says coastal storms experienced last night have had a more significant impact on North Clare than any other storm this winter.
It comes as local authority crews have been dispatched to a number of areas in the Loop Head area after severe winds forced boulders, rocks and shingle onto coastal roads.
Senior Engineer Ton Tiernan has been speaking with me in the past few minutes and he says it may take a number of days before some of the issues will be resolved:
Meanwhile, the flow of water from Parteen Weir is being increased once again today following heavy rainfall overnight.
Clare experience more rain than most parts of the country with heavy bursts in places leading to localised flooding.
The ESB has confirmed that it will increase the level of discharge to 230 cubic metres per second and the situation will be reviewed again tomorrow.
