Concerned residents in the Stonehall area near Newmarket on Fergus say their community is under threat from proposals to build a large power plant in the locallity.
They’re calling on Clare County Councillors to oppose plans to rezone an 80 acre parcel of land near Shannon Airport, which has been earmarked for the 85 million euro project.

Developers Carbon Sole Industries say the project would create around 50 jobs, as well as supporting a number of other spin off companies in the area.
However, residents in the area say the site is not suitable for any such project.
