Stobart Announces Shannon Return

Stobart Air has announced that it's returning to Shannon Airport, less than three months after it withdrew its flights from there.

Stobart Air had operated Aer Lingus Regional flights to Bristol, Birmingham and Edinburgh until the beginning of this year, when the airline withdrew from Shannon Airport.

At the time, the airline said Shannon did not fit with their strategic plan.

Now though, the airline is to return to the airport, and will operate a return service to Birmingham six times a week from June under the Aer Lingus Regional banner.

The move will see up to 45,000 additional passengers pass through the Airport.

Stobart had previously based aircraft at Shannon, but the airline says closing this has helped enable them to make this morning's announcement.
