A low level status yellow weather remains in place for Clare, as gale force winds battered the west of the country overnight.

Met Éireann says gales of up to 65 kilometres per hour hit many parts with gusts of up to 90 kilometres in some areas along the coast.
The alert for Clare, Galway, Kerry, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal has been extended until midnight tonight.
