A status yellow thunderstorm warning comes into effect in Clare and part of the Southwest this afternoon.
Thundery downpours, localised flooding and lightning damage is forecast throughout the storm.

The alert, which also covers Limerick and Keery comes into force from 3 o’clock and remains in place until 9pm.
Cathal Nolan from Ireland’s Weather Channel says its from the tail end of a tropical storm.
