State To End IPAS Contract With Lisdoonvarna Hotel

The state’s contract to house International Protection Applicants in the Hydro Hotel in Lisdoonvarna will come to an end this summer.

A senior figure within the Department of Integration has confirmed to Meelick Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe that the contract is set to end in July and will not be renewed beyond this point.

The hotel’s 171 residents will be relocated on Friday July 4th.

Deputy Crowe says it makes sense for the North Clare town to be one of the first not to have its contract renewed.
