Just under 3,000 Clare students are preparing to sit their state exams this morning.
More than 1,350 Leaving Cert students face English Paper 1 from 9.30 – while it’s English and CSPE on the cards for the 1,500 Junior Cert students.

The exams will continue until Wednesday, June 21st for the Junior Certs while, Leaving Cert examinations will conclude the following Friday.
Clarecastle-based Irish and Maths teacher Mary Riordan has this advice for students:
It’s the first exam under the new junior cycle English programme, where the paper accounts for 90 percent of the grade.
