Comprehensive plans for a complete overhaul of Shannon Town and its environs will be unveiled today.
The blueprint will coincide with the seperation of Shannon Airport from the DAA and emphasis the importance of the 2000 acre landbank in the vicinty of the airport where a new International Aviation Services Centre will be established.
It earmarks this site for an international cargo hub and a global logistics centre for humanitarian aid.
The plan is being unveiled by Clare County Council at Shannon Airport ahead of its December meeting which is being held there in support of the upcoming changes for international airport
Long standing local Fine Gael Councillor Sean McLoughlin believes it could result a major employment boost for the town itself.
