A Springfield resident is hitting out at authorities for what she insists is a lack of communication over proposed flood protection works there.
It comes as it emerges that the national agency tasked with alleviating flooding will NOT carry out works to protect one of Clare's most infamous flooding blackspots.
The OPW has assessed three options for works at Springfield, Clonlara, but all failed a cost-benefit analysis.
Instead, works will be carried out by Clare County Council, under a Minor Works Scheme and the local authority has told Clare FM they have applied for funding for the appointment of a consultant to find solutions to the flood problems.
Geraldine Quinlivan, whose house was flooded last winter, says despite the fact that money has been made available to Clare County Council, to carry out work, the people of Springfield are yet to see any benefit from it.
Meanwhile, a Clonlara Councillor believes using the Minor Works Scheme to fund the proposed works may be the best solution.
Michael Begley thinks making decisions at a local level could make the process quicker.
