An OPW proposal to address flooding problems in the Springfield area of Clonlara is expected before the end of the year.

Engineers are currently working on a plan to prevent repeats of the severe flooding that impacted the area last winter, and its expected it will involve the building of an embankment.
Once the proposal is presented, planning permission will have to be sought from Clare County Council.
Clare TD Pat Breen is anxious that this process proceeds as quickly as possible and says he's made this clear to the OPW.
