Sporting enthusiasts are expected to descend on Ennis next month for a snooker extravaganza.
World Snooker Champion Ken Doherty, the legendary Jimmy White and John Virgo will host an exhibition of snooker, trickshots and conversation, alongside a number of local heroes including Clare All Ireland winning hurler Ian Galvin at Hotel Woodstock on November 7th.
Ken Doherty made history in 1997 by becoming the first snooker player from the Republic of Ireland to become World Champion and he’ll be displaying the winning trophy on the night.
He’s told Clare FM’s Morning Focus he’s fond memories of Ennis, which he’s described as a hotbed of snooker and pool players.
