There has been a spike in the number of people being treated for Covid at the region’s main hospital in the past 24 hours.
There were 47 covid patients admitted to University Hospital Limerick this morning, a rise of 13 on the previous day.

The level of overcrowding is continuing to ease as the week comes to a close, though the Dooradoyle facility it’s still extrememly busy, with double the number on trolleys than any other hospital in the country.
The latest INMO figures show 65 people were waiting to be admitted to a bed this morning, down from a peak of 91 earlier in the week, with 47 of those in the Emergency Department.
