Bikers speeding was a factor in almost half of all motorcyclist deaths over a 5 year period.
The Road Safety Authority says 171 motorcyclists have been killed, including four in Clare, and 629 have been seriously injured nationally since 2010.
Statistics also show almost a third of motorcyclists involved in fatal collisions had consumed alcohol between 2008 and 2012.
