A special event’s being organised for Irish people who missed out on the chance to run in the New York marathon this year.
Around 500 people made the trip only to be disappointed when yesterday’s event was cancelled in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

Now the organisers of the Dublin city version of the race are preparing an invite-only marathon for the group, to be held in Phoenix Park in the coming weeks.
It’s hoped the finishers could even be awarded the medals they should have got once they crossed the line in New York.
