A recent ISPCC report revealed children in "distress" are being left waiting up to 4 weeks, for emergency psychiatric appointments.
It also found that over 420,000 calls were answered by Childline last year – the majority from boys.
However, consultant psychiatrist Dr John Hillery says the focus shouldn't be on the length children are waiting, but to prevent them from having to seek mental health services in the first place.
