South East Clare representatives express disappointment over by pass challenge

It’s feared the long awaited Killaloe Bypass could be significantly delayed by a High Court challenge to the project.

Environmental Campaigner Peter Sweetman has successfully secured leave to take a case against An Bord Pleanala’s decision to approve the 40 million euro development aimed at ending one of the region’s worst traffic bottlenecks.

However Mr Sweetman argues it  will result in irreversible destruction of a woodlands habitat and the matter is back before the High Court in July.
