A South East Clare Councillor wants the local authority to examine the possibility of a four day working week for council staff.
A number of businesses across the country continue to partake in a pilot programme which sees employees work the same number of weekly hours in fewer days.
Clare County Council says it is not yet possible to outline the implications on local services such a move would have.
