A South East Clare Councillor has described current inaction in legalising the use of CCTV to prosecute illegal dumping as disappointing.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan O’Callaghan raised the matter at a recent meeting of the Physical Development SPC, and was informed the legislation to use CCTV to tackle illegal dumping still hasn’t come before the Oireachtas.

The Kilmurry councillor isn’t hopeful the relevant Bill will be reviewed before the end of the year.
