Solar-powered warning signs are to be installed along the main road from Sixmilebridge to Cratloe in the ‘very near future’.
It follows an incident along the R462 where an HGV was forced to reverse around half a mile after encountering a low bridge.

There are three bridges along the road, with the two at either ends of the route standing at 14 foot and four inches in height, while the middle bridge known as Poulawilly bridge measures just 11 foot five inches by comparison.
Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat O’Gorman says the installation of the signs has been delayed a number of times since they were ordered in early April.
