Social Enterprises In Clare Awarded €200,000

Four social enterprises in Clare have been granted a combined €200,000 in funding for various social, environmental and economic objectives.

The allocation is part of a €4 million announcement by the Department of Rural and Community Development under the Growing Social Enterprise Fund.

A total of €93,000 has been awarded to the Common Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Living for essential safety upgrades and renewable energy integration of the centre.

Hometree has been given shy of €92,000 for facilities and equipment, the enhancement of community engagement programmes, the acquisition of a new vehicle and sustainability initiatives.

The Killaloe Sailing Club has received over €11,000 to fund a new solar energy system while the East Clare Community Cooperative Society has been awarded nearly €4,000 for the upgrade of its computer systems.
