Slight Increase In Patients Waiting On Trolley’s At UHL

University Hospital Limerick is the second most overcrowded facility in the country today.

The Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation recorded 82 patients waiting on trolleys at Dooradoyle during this mornings rounds with 42 of these presenting at the Emergency Department, which is a slight increase on yesterday’s figures.

However Cork University Hospital is the busiest facility in the country today , registering a total of 88 patients on trolleys.

It comes on a day when 584 people are waiting for hospital beds nationwide.

Incoming President of the IMO, Dr. John Cannon, says action is badly needed on overcrowding.
