Slight Ease In Overcrowding at UHL

Overcrowding has eased slightly at the region's main hospital today though it still remains among the worst in the country. 

There are currently 37 people awaiting beds at Unversity Hospital Limerick this afternoon, 20 of those on trolleys.

Cork University Hospital has the largest number waiting, at 40, while Beaumont in Dublin has 39. 

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says the total number figure stands at 425 today, down by over 100 on the figure for yesterday.
