Nurses say there's been a slight drop in the level of overcrowding at the region's main hospital today.
The latest trolleywatch figures show 55 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 15 of those in the emergency department.
It comes on a day where 284 people are waiting on trolleys at hospital across the country.
The worst affected is University Hospital Galway where 39 people are waiting for beds.
