Slight Decrease In Homes Completed In Clare To Start 2025

Clare has witnessed a slight decrease in the number of new homes constructed in the last year.

New Central Statistics Office data shows that just over 123 homes were completed in the county in the first three months of the year.

Construction was finished on 123 dwellings from January to March, a 3% decrease from the 127 seen in the first quarter of 2024.

Of this, 52 were single houses, 62 were scheme houses while the remaining nine were apartments.

30% of the homes completed were in the county town as Ennis saw the delivery of 36 units, the same amount constructed during the same time period in 2024.

Kilrush saw a large spike in dwelling completions, with building finished on 32 houses, 21 more than a year previous.

There was a one third decrease in the space of a year in Killaloe despite the delivery of 30 homes to start the year.

The level of completion was slightly above the first quarter of 2024 in Ennistymon as construction finished on 14 homes, while Shannon saw a marked decrease as 11 homes were finished, down from 25 at the start of last year.
