A Sixmilebridge woman has travelled to County Offaly this weekend to represent the Banner County in the 2018 Queen of the Land festival.
Maeve Clune, who is a member of the Sixmilebridge branch of Macra na Feirme, will be among dozens of young women from around the country taking part.

The pageant involves interviews in front of the judging panel, as well as on-stage ones, talent displays and other events and culminates in the 2018 Queen being crowned.
21-year-old Maeve, who is a psychiatric nursing student in Athlone IT, says it’s got a Rose of Tralee vibe to it.
