The unveiling of a statue in honour of Brendan O’Regan will take place in his native Sixmilebridge next week.
O’Regan was the man responsible for developing Shannon Airport, inventing the concept of the duty-free shop and for transforming the Shannon region.

The unveiling of the statue of Dr. O’Regan in The Square, Sixmilebridge will take place next Monday, with numerous members of the O’Regan family from Ireland and abroad set to be in attendance.
Secretary of the Sixmilebridge Historical Society, Tim Crowe, details how important O’Regan’s ideas were for this country.
