Two masked men disabled security cameras and cut phone and alarm lines around 4am before forcing their way into a holding area in the store. They made their getaway in a vehicle with a significant haul of cigarettes and cash.
Gardaí were notified by a passing motorist who spotted the men using a trolley to remove the goods from the store.
Owner of the Centra Supermarket and Local Councillor John Crowe says those involved were well-prepared.
