Sixmilebridge Parish Priest Calls On GAA To Play A Role In Tackling Drugs Use

The Parish Priest of Sixmilebridge says there’s an urgent need for the GAA to play it’s part in tackling the scourge of drugs use.

Fr Harry Bohan, who’s also a sociologist, says drugs use can come to the fore for young people, particularly as they transition from primary school to secondary school, as they face the various challenges associated with that.

He believes the club structure within the GAA might be a way of reaching those worst affected, and while he admits it’s an ambitious call, he insists it’s an issue that urgently needs to be addressed.
