Sixmilebridge Mart reopened for business today following the success of a community campaign to buy out the once prosperous facility and get it back in business.

Over 600 Local residents and farmers came together to raise 300,000 euro to buy the facility from Golden Vale Marts following its closure in 2009 and the new shareholders are confident the mart can become a viable business once again.
With local businesses welcoming the return of spin off trade from passing farmers and cattle dealers, the new manager of Sixmilebridge mart believes today is a positive start.
