Sixmilebridge GAA club is hopeful that being part of the ‘Ireland Lights Up’ initiative will bring the community together.
The popular initiative encourages GAA clubs across the country to turn on their floodlights and open their walking tracks to provide a safe environment for exercise and socialising during the dark winter evenings.
The South-East Clare club is one of many taking part and will turn on the lights every Wednesday for the next two months between 8pm and 9pm.
Coordinator of the event and Health and Wellbeing Officer for Sixmilebridge, Brian O’Neill, is hopeful this will be a stepping stone for members of the community to get involved in other projects at the club.
