Sixmilebridge Councillor John Crowe has lost out in his bid for a seat in the Seanad after a marathon count.
The former Mayor of Clare, who had been nominated for the Labour panel, was eliminated in the 31st count.

Earlier in the day, the President of Ógra Fianna Fáil and Ennisman Eoin Neylon was also eliminated on the same panel.
Today is the final day of counting, and all eyes will turn to the Administrative panel when outgoing Ennistymon Senator Martin Conway will hope to become the only Clare member of the incoming Upper House.
