A Sixmilebridge Councillor believes only an offer of appropriate alternative accommodation can bring a local illegal encampment dispute to an end.
An emergency community meeting took place in Sixmilebridge GAA hall on Saturday concerning the unauthorised settlement of a caravan at the Lios Anama estate.
The occupants had inhabited a section of the Sixmilebridge train station car park for the previous two and a half years before being removed and relocating just a mile down the road in recent weeks.
Its understood the household have secured a high court injunction to remain in situ until Friday.
Former Mayor of Clare and Independent Councillor PJ Ryan says council housing is the only amicable solution.
