Sixmilebridge Businessman To Run In General Election

A Sixmilebridge businessman has declared his intention to run for in upcoming General Election.

Richard Cahill, who ran as a European Election candidate in 2014, has joined the Dáil race as an independent.

Speaking to Clare FM, he says he hasn't ruled out joining an alliance and favours the kind of groupings seen in European parliament where a group can come together on different issues without a party whip.

Mr Cahill joins Fine Gael Deputies Pat Breen and Joe Carey, Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley, Cllr Clare Colleran Molloy and Michael McDonagh, Labour's Michael Mc Namara, Independent Councillor Ann Norton and Sinn Fein's Noeleen Moran in the running for a Dáil seat.
