Six Women In Clare Were Victims Of Domestic Killings Over Two Decades

New figures show that six women were the victims of domestic killings in Clare, over the last 22 years.

Five of the women involved died at the hands of a partner or ex-partner.

The findings, from the latest Femicide Watch Report by Women’s Aid, show that the vast majority of female murder victims know their killers.

Sergeant Caitriona Houlihan is Chairperson of the Clare Women’s Network, an umbrella organisation of local support services.

She says a number of local events will highlight these killings as part of the ’16 Days of Action’ campaign.
