Six Killed After Gunmen Open Fire On Indian Airforce Base

Six people have been killed, after gunmen attacked an airforce base in northern India.

At least four suspected jihadist militants opened fire at  the Pathankot base near the border with Pakistan, late last night.

The gun battle lasted several hours, and led to the deaths of the four attackers and two Indian airforce personnel.

The Punjab region has been placed on a state of alert following the attack.
