Six projects in Clare are to receive funding to help conserve and restore built, cultural and natural heritage throughout the county.
They’re among 137 projects to receive a grant under the Heritage Council’s Community Heritage Grant Scheme, with each project expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Among the recipients in the county are the Irish Iron Heritage Foundation, which is being offered funding to assist with the launching of the world’s first annual bloomery iron smelting and forging school.
The Eldertree Community Group will receive funds to support the facilitation of a wild space for the community to connect with each other and nature, learn about native flora and fauna and engage in traditional crafts, skills and storytelling.
Funding has also been granted to Common Knowledge, Dúchas na Sionna, the Quin Heritage Group and the Church of Ireland, Drumcliffe Union of Churches.
