Six Áras Hopefuls Expected To Come Before Clare County Council

At least six Presidential hopefuls are expected to come before Clare County Council in the coming weeks.

A decision is expected this Friday on when the local authority will meet with candidates who are looking for the Council’s backing to get their names on the ballot for the election at the end of October.

So far, Gavin Duffy, Joan Freeman, Gemma O’Doherty, Kevin Sharkey, Marie Goretti Moylan and John Groarke have written to Clare County Council to request its support – a candidate can run in the election if they get the backing of four local authorities.
