SIPTU launch new campaign against McCarthy Cuts

 

Clare’s political representatives are being asked to fight planned government cutbacks in a new SIPTU campaign.

The Communities Against Cuts Campaign has launched its community PLEDGE in Clare by writing to 52 local representatives including TD’s Town and County Councillors asking them to lobby against proposals contained in the McCarthy report on behalf of their communities.

The latest initiative against local cutbacks comes following calls from Kilrush and Ennis town Councils urging the government to disregard McCarthy report proposals on the abolition of town councils.
