SIPTU Hopeful Temperary Layoffs At Shannon Won’t Last Beyond Three Months

SIPTU has expressed hope that Aer Lingus staff in Shannon won’t see their temporary lay off extended beyond three months.

Earlier this week the airline confirmed that 129 staff will be laid off from next week until June, saying that as no flights have operated since Apil last year, it’s not sustainable to continue to roster staff to current levels.

SIPTU says it highlights the pressing need for the Government to provide additional supports to aviation workers.
