Sinn Féin Leader Calls For State-Built Accommodation Centres In Clare

The leader of Sinn Féin says the State must construct purpose-built accommodation centres in Clare to allow tourism dependent communities here to function.

Mary Lou McDonald has been in Clare this morning and has visited St Patrick’s Comprehensive School in Shannon as well as Obair Community Crèche in Newmarket-on-Fergus.

The Ennistymon local electoral area continues to have the highest proportion of Ukrainian refugees in the country with nearly 11% of its population now from the Eastern European nation.

Deputy McDonald has been telling Clare FM’s Seán Lyons she believes North Clare communities are victims of “government mismanagement”.
