Michelle O'Neill is the new leader of the Sinn Féin party in Northern Ireland. 

The MLA is to take over from Martin McGuinness after he stood down last week, due to poor health.

The 40-year-old, from county Tyrone, is the current health minister north of the border.

Speaking at Stormont this afternoon, Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams said her appointment is a generational change within the party
