At the end of last year, according to the CSO’s latest Quarterly National Household Survey, there are now 164,400 people in work in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary.

This is the highest number recorded since 2008, up by 10,500 on this time last year.

The unemployment rate is also down to 6%, down from 8.5% at the same point end of 2015.

This figure trails only the South-West as being the lowest of any region in Ireland while the rate of growth here last year was the highest of any region in Ireland.
