Significant Drop In Level Of Overcrowding At Region’s Main Hospital

There has been a significant drop in the level of overcrowding at the region's main hospital today. 

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 15 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 6 of those in the Emergency Department.

The figures is in stark contrast to a number of other hospitals around the country where overcriwding remains an issue.

At the Mater, St Vincents and Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, more than 30 people are waiting on trolleys, while at Galway University Hospital, 34 people are waiting for beds, 27 of those in the Emergency Department.
