There was a significant drop in the number of drink-driving arrests in Clare over the Christmas period.

Figures from the Clare Garda Traffic Corps show that 5 people were arrested for drink-driving over the 12 days compared to 17 in the same period last year.
The number of material damage traffic accidents have also fallen from 34 down to 23, while non-serious injury traffic accidents fell from 6 to 2.
There were no serious or fatal accidents over the holiday period on Clare roads.
