Police in Belfast don't believe Northern Ireland's current political instability is related to last night's shooting of an officer.
The victim's had surgery overnight – while a 36 year old man's in custody in relation to the incident.
Officers believe it was related to dissident terrorism, but say there hasn't been a rise in it since the power-sharing government collapsed this month.
