Shock After East Clareman’s Death In Cork Accident

Sympathies have been expressed with the family of an East Clareman who was killed in a road traffic accident in Cork.

33-year-old Catahhal Torpey from Tulla was struck by a car on the N25 on the Cork side of Castlemartyr at approximately 5:15am yesterday morning, and later died at Cork University Hospital.

It's reported that he had been attending a wedding prior to the crash.

Separately, a motorcade of around 200 motorbikes escorted the body of a Dublin man back to his home yesterday, after he was killed in an accident in West Clare on Sunday morning.

44 year old father of three Aidan Lynam lost his life after his motorbike collided with a car on the N67 Kilrush Road, just outside Kilkee.

He had been taking part in a fundraiser for Down Syndrome Ireland at the time.
