Local groups and Clare County Council have been in talks with Alan Shatter’s Department about a 5.2 acre former reserve force camp, which includes the 82-year-old Sluagh Hall that has been used for a wide range of community events.
However, it closed along with the camp in March of this year, and Minister Shatter has told TDs that talks on its future are on-going, though he has warned that if no deal is struck, then the site will go to public auction early next year.
