The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise once again.

The latest figures from the INMO shows 51 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 27 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 33 more than the next busiest facilty and comes on a day when 163 patients have been left waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
